The Women in Medicine group at The Christ Hospital has once again partnered with DePaul Cristo Rey High School and Mount Notre Dame High School for this year’s Women in Medicine event.
This event, created for girls who are interested in medical careers, was designed to give hands-on experience with some of the latest medical techniques and technologies. The goal is to foster excitement for the medical field and encourage girls to pursue their dreams.
These local high school girls spent the day learning skills from a variety of specialties with some of The Christ Hospital’s top women doctors. Breakout sessions included orthopaedics, family medicine, OB/GYN and surgery. Physicians shared their personal journeys into medicine and introduced students to a variety of skills and technologies in each specialty. These first-hand experiences were designed to be interactive, informative and fun, and students and physicians alike spent the day with big smiles on their faces.
