MOVE BEYOND SURVIVING OFFERS FREE EXCURSIONS TO SUPPORT BREAST CANCER SURVIVORS

At The Christ Hospital Health Network, we believe in the special connection between a patient and their doctor. Kelly McLean, MD, surgical oncologist with The Christ Hospital Health Network found a way to give back to some of her breast cancer patients. She’s the board president of the non-profit group ‘Move Beyond Surviving’. This group of powerful women support each by enjoying the great outdoors together. Dr. McLean brought her love of nature to breast cancer survivors by having the group host adventures from hiking and kayaking to rocking climbing and other outdoor activities. The program is free to any breast cancer survivor as it runs on donations and grants. In 2022 alone, survivors went on trips locally in Ohio, Kentucky and even North Carolina. They plan on continuing monthly trips to expand the group and reach even more of cancer survivors. Dr. McLean is doing everything it takes to get these women back to living life again.
