Young ladies from DePaul Cristo Rey High School had the opportunity to learn from our female physicians and get hands-on experience with medical equipment from a range of specialties during the Women in Medicine group's annual community outreach event.

This event, which is designed to encourage girls who are interested in medical careers, consisted of several breakout sessions where the students were able to learn about all equipment and techniques from our very own doctors. Sessions this year included orthopaedics, psychiatry, anesthesiology, women's health and general surgery services.

Our physicians also shared stories about their own personal journeys into the medical field, and encouraged the students to work hard and pursue their dreams. The event was encouraging to physician and student alike and shared a strong message that anything can be accomplished through hard work and the desire to transform lives.
